University Of Maiduguri 2015 Post-UTME Canceled

This is to inform the general public that and candidates who applied to the University of Maiduguri(UNIMAID) will not have to sit for the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME) to be considered for admissions.

Speaking withDaily Trust, the institution's Vice Chancellor, ProfessorIbrahim Njodi, said the selection process will be done without further tests.

"For this year’s admission, we are not conducting post UTME," Njodi said.

This current news has it that the Nigeria's education sector is facing many challenges mainly because successive governments have failed to properly implement the various policies so far introduced, says the Vice Chancellor of theUniversity of Maiduguri(UNIMAID), Professor Ibrahim Njodi.

According to Njodi, the problems in the sector is poor implementation, not the lack of positive policies.

"The problem with the education sector is not introducing new policy but implementation," he told Daily Trust.

"As successive governments are coming in with new policies and sweeping the old ones under the carpet, institutions are confused with the actual policy to adopt.

The latest news reaching us has it that the Nigeria's polytechnic sector is being discriminated against by the Federal Government,Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) and theTertiary Education Trust Fund(TETFund), says the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP).

Speaking with journalist in Abuja, ASUP National President, ComradeChibuzo Asomugha, said graduates and staff of polytechnics unfairly treated, relegated to the background and undermined by government policies and bodies.

300 Level UDUS Student Needs N3m For Surgery After Breaking Spinal

The gist reaching us has it that A 300 level student of Microbiology at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto(UDUS) has been left hospitalized after damaging her spinal cord in an auto crash near Talata-Mafara along Gusau-Sokoto road, in Zamfara state.

Fatima Abdullahi, who has been on admission at a hospital in Abuja, now needs N3 million for a surgery after doctors at a Zamfara hospital diagnosed her with severe Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).
