UNIZIK SUG President Impeached Indefinitely- Also Suspended By Management

This is to inform you that the authorities of Nnamdi Azikiwe University on Thursday 11th June 2015,suspended the impeached SUG president Noble Eyisi indefinitely from the school.

According to the university,Noble Eyisi at about 2:30pm on 3rd June,2015 mobilized some questionable faces and some students of the university at the schools Multipurpose hall and distributed placards to them in an attempt to probably engage them in acts design to disrupt peace in the university.

LASU crisis: Hoodlums Hijacked Our Protest – SUG President

Following the violence that erupted in the Lagos State University, LASU, Lagos State House of Assembly, has directed the school management to re-open the registration portal for the over 1,292 students, to complete their registration exercise

Meanwhile, the acting president of the Lagos State University (LASU) Student Union Government (SUG), Miss Mojirade Hassan said that the protest embarked upon by the students to register their displeasure over the closure of the registration portal, was hijacked by unknown hoodlums.

This came barely 24 hours after the students went on rampage, destroying the school’s property, burning tyres on the expressway and disrupting the second semester examinations of the 2012/2013 academic session.
The House gave the directive after a six-hour plenary session in which each of the parties-the school management and the students- addressed the law makers.

The Lagos State University Management has declared the 20th January be lecture free to enable students engage in Student Union Activities scheduled to hold that day.

All students are advised to be peaceful and conduct themselves in an orderly manner.

UNIJOS SUG Ask Lecturers To Disregard Ministe’s Sack Threat

President of the Students’ Union Government
(SUG) at the University of Jos, Ajik Magaji, yesterday appealed to striking lecturers to disregard threats of mass sack attributed to the supervising Minister of Education, Nyesome Wike, and call off its five months strike in the interest of parents and students.


Magaji in an interview with newsmen in Jos
described the minister’s threat as unnecessary, saying it was capable of escalating the issue but appealed to lecturers to have faith in the agreement reached with the president and end the strike.

“We understand that at the end of the meeting between the leadership of ASUU and the president, there was an agreement between both parties.

Having come this far, we wonder why the supervising minister of education would come out threatening the striking lecturers with mass sack if the strike is not called off. We believe it is time we all come together once again as major stakeholders in the affairs of the education sector to chart a new course for advancing the sector and improving the standard of our institutions’ he said.
