RIVPOLY Notice to students on Re-Validaton of Their Studentship

All students of Rivers State Polytechnic are hereby informed that the Institution will be resuming for academic activities on Monday, November 24, 2014. It will be recalled that the Rivers State Polytechnic was closed following students disturbances of Thursday, October 2nd, 2014.

Below is the information for students on the conditions to be fulfilled in the re-validation of their studentship.

The Governing Council and Management of the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori have directed that a surcharge of N20,000 be levied each student. In addition, a portal access charge of N1,000 and bank-charge of N300 will be paid by each student while paying the surcharge, making a total of N21,300 to be paid into any of the following accounts:

1.The student should go to any branch of Access Bank or Zenith Bank and ask to pay Riv. Poly. Surcharge. The student will be asked to supply his or her matriculation number.

2.After paying at the bank, a printout with a unique code will be issued. The student use this code to log into our portal and print out a copy of "Students' Undertaking of Good Conduct."

3.The form has to be filled, signed and stamped by Commissioner of Oats/Notary Public and submitted at their departmental Offices in triplicate. The student is

RIVPOLY Supplementary Admission (ND) 2014/2015

All Candidates who applied for admission into Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori in the last UTME exam and scored 150 grade but were not offered admission on the merit list, are by this announcement notified to apply for consideration through the Polytechnic Portal.

The Portal Support Office and ICT Cyber Centre are open for processing and to entertain enquiries.

RIVPOLY Centre for Continuing Education Resumptiuon Date Announced

The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, has announced the resumption of academic activities halted as a result of the crises at the Polytechnic early this month.

Consequently, lectures will resume on Saturday, 1st November, 2014.

Students of the Centre are accordingly advised to take note of this latest development and comply as date for the second semester examination would be made known soon

Rivpoly Temporarily Shut Down Following Violent Protest by Students

It was learnt that at about 8:00am this morning some group of students barricaded the both entrance into the school (engineering and management gates ). They Where aggrieved because of the loss of one their fellow student who was severely beaten by security officers of the school yesterday during an election of the National Association of Akwa Ibom State Students Rivpoly Chapter .

The boy whom they claimed is dead was beaten up as a result of his refusal to obey the security officers who ask him to leave the election venue.

The students later opened the school of management gate, ferociously attacking the chief security officer of the school and his men, they had them beaten to pulp, destroyed their security post and later went on damaging offices of lecturers and their cars and looted away some valuables and properties.

Right now members of the police force have restored peace in the school and students have been asked to vacate the hostel till further notice. This is happening few days after the school began her second semester examinations.
