Latest update as Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the JOINT UNIVERSITIES PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION BOARD (JUPEB) programme of Imo State University (IMSU) for 2017/2018 academic session.

The programme leads to the award of JUPEB Certificate which enables candidates gain Direct Entry Admission into Imo State University, Owerri and other JUPEB affiliated Universities in Nigeria and Abroad.

DURATION: The duration of the programme is one academic session of two semesters.

BREAKING NEWS: IMSU NASU And SSANU Suspend 3 Months Strike, ASUU To Follow Suit

The latest news report has it that Non-academic Staff Union of Universities, (NASU) and Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) chapter of imo state University (IMSU) has called off its 3 months strike.

It was learnt that the announcement came after the emergency meeting held on Tuesday 21st June 2016 to discuss recent developments concerning the strike.

However, academic activities are yet to resume as ASUU chapter of the institution is yet to call off its strike though efforts are already being made to see it

IMSU Embarks On Strike Following School Fees Increment

The latest report has is that the ASUU chapter of Imo State University has embarked on a strike.

This was coming after the convocation ceremony of the institution held recently.

A Copy of the memo declaring the strike was pasted at the school’s front gate and other locations within the school premises.

It was learnt that the strike action is connected with the recent increment on the school fees payable by non-indigenous students of the school as follows; 

FACULTY OF MEDICINE -N190,000.00
FACULTY OF LAW- N180,000.00
FACULTY OF ENGINEERING -N180,000,00
OTHER FACULTIES- N150,000.00 

2015/2016 IMSU 2nd Semester Resumption Date Update

This is to inform all following the conclusion of the 2015/2016 1st semester examination of the Imo State University (IMSU), students are expected to vacate the hostels. 

It is gathered that final year Law students and 100 level students are exempted from this as they are yet to write their 1st semester examination.

2nd semester is expected to commence on Monday 21st March, 2016. 

Latest Update On IMSU 8th Convocation Ceremony

We the Nigerian Education update is to disclose to the general public and the Graduates of Imo state University, parents/Guardians, Alumni of the University that activities marking the 8th convocation ceremony of the University are scheduled to hold from Wednesday 16th March, 2016 to Saturday 19th March, 2016.

2015/2016 IMSU 1st Semester Examination

We the NigerianEdu.com is to inform all that the 1st semester examination of Imo State University (IMSU) for 2015/2016 academic session is expected to kick off on 8th February, 2016 with faculty of Education.

Other faculties will commence theirs on February 15th, 2016.

The 1st semester examination is expected to end on March 4th, (Today) 2016.

We are to inform all concerned qualified candidates who wish to apply for the 2015 post-UTME screening of Imo State University that the deadline for registration is today 28 August, 2015.

IMSU Has Bans The Act Of Pouring Water On Final Year Students As Part Of Celebration

IMSU UPDATE - This is to inform you that the management of Imo State University has banned the act of pouring water on final year students usually after their final exams.

A notice which was released after a meeting with school management and SUG officials emphasized that any one caught in the act whether within the school premises or hostels will be handed over to the police.

This is to inform all concerned that - The management of Imo State University, Owerri has announced the sales of post-UTME form for all candidates who applied for admission into Imo State University, Owerri for the 2015/2016 Academic Session and who made the institution their FIRST CHOICE that the screening exercise through a computer Based Test [CBT] will commence on Wednesday 2nd September and end on Saturday 12th September, 2015.
