This is to inform all that the Head, Media and Information of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Dr Fabian Benjamin, in a statement yesterday said that the board has expanded the carrying capacities of some of the higher institutions for 2016/2017 admission.

He equally stated that the enrollment for Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and Monotechnics and Innovative Enterprise Institutions has improved.

He reacted to the recent comments by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Rahmon Bello who said that JAMB is responsible for admission challenges in higher institutions and advocated that there should be separate entrance examination for Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

TETFund, JAMB, FG Discriminate Against Polytechnic Graduates And Teachers — ASUP

The latest news reaching us has it that the Nigeria's polytechnic sector is being discriminated against by the Federal Government,Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) and theTertiary Education Trust Fund(TETFund), says the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP).

Speaking with journalist in Abuja, ASUP National President, ComradeChibuzo Asomugha, said graduates and staff of polytechnics unfairly treated, relegated to the background and undermined by government policies and bodies.

"[Polytechnic] graduates and teachers are pathetically and consistently judged, not by the strength and character of their knowledge, learning and skills, but by the addresses of their institutions,"Asomugha said.
He accused TETFund of going against the distribution ratio prescribed by law the disbursement of fund.

Kwara Poly Is Currently Shut Down Over Cult Killings

This is to inform all that -The management of Kwara State Polytechnic has shut down the institution of incidence of cult killings that started last weekend.

It was learned that now fewer than 16 people has been murdered by the war between rival cult groups.
The Kwara State police command has said that it has arrested 30 people in connection with the killings.

It was gathered that one of the victims of the cult killings was said to have been gunned down during the screening of students Union Government aspirants over the weekend. Another was chased by his assailants to Irewole area and murdered with machetes.
