Latest News as Non-Academic Staff Of Universities To Embark On Indefinite Strike Next Week

Latest report gathered revealed that Non-teaching staff of Nigerian Universities under the auspices of Joint Action Committee says it will embark on an indefinite strike from Monday, Sept. 11 over non-implementation of the 2009 agreement.

The union comprise the National Association of Academic Technologists, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities.

A statement jointly signed by Mr Sani Suleiman, Mr Chris Ani and Mr Samson Ugwoke, Presidents of NAAT, NASU and SSANU made this known in Abuja on Wednesday.

NASU Urges FG To Pay CONTISS 15 Arrears

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos chapter, has urged the Federal Government to pay the backlog of the Consolidated Tertiary Institution Salary Structure 15.

Chairman of the institution’s chapter of NASU, Mr. Ilesanmi Olatunbosun, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that members of the union were tired of sitting at home for over two months.

The national executive of the union on November 4, 2013, had directed all its members in federal institutions to embark on an indefinite strike over the non-payment of the arrears.

Olatunbosun said the government had implemented the CONTISS 15 migration in 2013, but did not release funds for the payment of the arrears, which covered a period of three years.

Nasarawa State University Post UTME & DE Dates Now Out: 2013/2014

This is to invite candidates who have chosen Nasarawa State University, Keffi as their FIRST CHOICE (UTME & Direct Entry) and scored the required Minimum National Cut-off Point of 180 and above for the 2013 UTME and lower credit for Direct Entry to the POST-UTME/DE Screening Test scheduled to hold by 10:00 am on the dates stated below:

1. Agriculture, Social Sciences, Arts & Law - Friday, 3rd January, 2014

2. Administration, Natural & Applied Sciences and Education – Saturday, 4th January, 2014
