UNILAG Gets New Vice Chancellor

Latest update as Oluwatoyin Ogundipe has been appointed the 12th Substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos.
This was contained in a statement made known by the information unit of the university.

The statement said the institution followed the guidelines for the appointment of vice chancellors and provosts, as recommended by the Ministry of Education.

The three candidates that were selected are Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Olukayode Amund, and Ayodeji Olukoju.

The statement said Mr. Ogundipe scored the highest mark in the exercise.

Current update as ASUU, VCs, NANS Kick Against JAMB 2017 Cut-off Marks

The fresh news report reveals that  Vice- Chancellors and the Academic Staff Union of Universities have rejected the cut-off mark of marks set by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

It would be recalled that JAMB two days ago announced cut-off mark of 120 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education.

ASUU has described this as a “sad policy decision, ” saying it was in tandem with the dream of the present government to destroy public universities in the

ASUU STRIKE: FG Summons VCs To Abuja For Crucial Meeting

The Federal government had given university lecturers an ultimatum to resume classes today, Monday 9 December but the lecturers refused to obey this directive.

Following the university lecturers refusal to call off the lingering strike and resume classes, the Federal Government has summoned all Vice Chancellors of federal and state universities to a crucial meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

Also invited to the meeting were members of the Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) On Needs Assessment Report for inauguration.
