We the Nigerian Education update is to disclose to the general public and the Graduates of Imo state University, parents/Guardians, Alumni of the University that activities marking the 8th convocation ceremony of the University are scheduled to hold from Wednesday 16th March, 2016 to Saturday 19th March, 2016.

WEDNESDAY 16TH MARCH
Convocation Lecture by prof. pat utomi
TITLE: strategic financial management in Education sector. A panacea for a Balanced tertiary Education in Nigeria
VENUE: University Auditorium

9:30 am -Inspection and commissioning of projects by the VISITOR
10am- Graduands and
guest are seated
10:30 am - Academic procession
11:00am-installation of the Chancellor and Award of certificates, First Degree and prizes

SATURDAY 19th MARCH,2016
11am. Conferment of Higher and Honorary Degree

NOTICE TO GRADUANDS
Academic gowns and other proceedings are to be collected at various faculties from Monday 14 th March 2016- Wednesday 16th March on payment of N20,000,000 for purpose of the Convocation. All payments should be made through Bank draft from any of the following banks, Zenith, Diamond bank, FCMB, UBA, First bank, ACCESS bank and Imsu Micro-finance bank.
NB: Gown will be issued on presentation of the evidence payment.
Any ph.D Graduand who wish to own his/her gown should pay the sum of N30,000.00 to the designated banks.
a. Graduands are to assemble at the designated faculty stands on the day of the Convocation by 7:am for the procession.
b. No Graduand will be allowed into the Convocation Arena after the procession.
c.ACCREDICTATION OF JOURNALIST
All journalist who wish to cover the Convocation ceremony are to be accredited by the public Relations Unit of the University on Thursday 17th March 2016. Between 9am-11am.
d.SECURITY NOTICE
1.Luggages and bags will not be allowed into the Convocation Arena.
2.parking lots will be indicated on the car sticker accompanying the invitation cards.
3.University security personnel will direct all vehicles to the designated parking lots.
4. No form of hawking of any item will be allowed near the Convocation Arena.
