Latest news as you are to Disregard Rumours On Increase Of Tuition Fees - UNILAG, UNILORIN Management

Base on current update reaching us it is gathered that A rumour has been making rounds all over the internet and on media that about 38 schools have increased their school fees.  So far, the management of some of the schools that were said to be among the 38 schools rumoured to have increased their school fees have released public notices debunking the rumours and advising students and aspirants to disregard such rumours.  A special notice released by the management of University of Lagos (UNILAG), reads,

"The management of the University of Lagos has noticed a
message currently trending in the print, electronic and social media about a dramatic increase in tuition fees in the University of Lagos.  Management wishes to assure you and your parents/guardians that there is no such increase in tuition fees.  Students are therefore advised to disregard the rumour."

Similarly, the management of University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has released a notice that reads thus, "The attention of the management of the University of Ilorin has been drawn to news reports in some newspapers today listing University of Ilorin among 38 universities that have increased their school fees.  We want to state categorically that there is no iota of truth in the report. The university's management has never met to decide on any fees increase because we are still running the 2016/2017 academic session.

And in any case, UNILORIN, being a federal government institution doesn't charge tuition fees, as tuition is free in public universities. The little charges we collect are for utilities and not for tuition.  So, that report was meant to cause unnecessary panic among Nigerian parents."  Students are therefore advised to disregard any rumour on increase of school fees as the rumour is not true.
