The Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau is set to establish
polytechnics and colleges of education in states where such institutions
are non-existent.
According to him it is the intention of the present administration to
ensure that each state in the country has a federal polytechnic and a
college of education.
“Mr President has two main focuses on education sector, to increase access and improve the quality of education at all levels.’’
“Education is the bedrock of any socio-economic and political
development, hence we need to equip our educational institutions with
up-to-date infrastructure and relevant text books to improve the
quality’’, he said
The minister said that the government would continue to pay attention to
the sector in order to improve the socio-economic status of the people.
