FUPRE shutdown by host community over non employment

The peaceful atmosphere at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) was disrupted day after yesterday as both youth and elders of the host community (Ugbomoro, Uvwie) stormed and locked down the whole school depriving both staff and students from gaining access to the school facility.

Their motive steamed from the fact that graduates of the host community were not considered during the recent employment process. Events have continued to worsen as at of today a casket has been placed at the front of the school gate with both the youths and elder still preventing anybody from gaining access to the school premises. This has further delayed students exam that only started on Monday this week.

We hope this issue is resolved very soon as most students are getting worried and confused.
