Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Master of Science Degree in International Trade and Development of University of Port Harcourt in collaboration with African Business Round Table for 2014/2015 Session.

1. Major Objectives of the Programme
The UNIPORT master’s programme in International Trade and Development provides graduates with the knowledge and tools necessary in formulating and implementing international trade and development policies. Other applicants in the trade related industry with at least five years working experience with degrees outside the ones named above will also be considered for admission into the programme

College of Education Ekiadolor Closed Down Following Students Protest

The management of College of Education Ekiadolor has ordered a close down of the institution following students’ protests.

Students of the institution last Wednesday staged a protest along the Benin-Ore expressway over the poor state of the institution and the intention of the lecturers to go on strike which the perceived may disrupt their examination and academic activities.

It was learnt that in the course of the protest, the students went violent and destroyed two cars in the convoy of the Esama of Benin Kingdom in the state, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, which were among other vehicle caught up in the gridlock caused by the protest.

MAUTECH Closed Indefinitely Over Possible Boko Haram Attack

Malam Hassan Tanko the Acting Registrar of Modibbo Adama University of Technology formerly known as Adamawa State University, Mubi, yesterday announced a temporal closure of the school.

This according to him is as a result of a possible Boko Haram attack on the school.

The statement, which directed students to go home, stated that the university was closed indefinitely for security reasons.

Mubi, 25 kms from Gulak which was annexed Saturday by Boko Haram Islamic Caliphate, appears to be the next target for the militants.

FUTO Second Semester Examination 2013/2014 Postponed

The Federal University of Technology,Owerri 2nd semester examination for 2014/2015 session scheduled to initially hold on the 15th of September has been postponed.

The examination will now commence from 22nd of September.

UNIBEN Direct Entry Screening Exercise 2014/2015 Announced

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Direct Entry Screening Exercise for 2014/2015 academic session will take place on Friday, 26th September, 2014 in designated centres within Ugbowo Campus of the University. All candidates are expected to be seated, latest, one hour before the stipulated time for the screening exercise.

NOTE: Only candidates who applied through JAMB for Direct Entry Admission and chose University of Benin as First Choice are eligible for the Screening Exercise.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
All applications should be done between September 8th , 2014 and 7.00am of 23rd September, 2014.

The procedure for the 2014/2015 Direct Entry screening application is as follows:

1. Visit www.uniben.edu and click on the WAEUP PORTAL link

2.Candidates are advised to have a valid e-mail account before starting the application process.

3.Click on Direct Entry Screening Test 2014/2015

4.Click on Register for application at the top left of the displayed page to proceed.

5.Enter your Surname as written on the JAMB Registration slip, and your JAMB Registration number.

6.Immediately, your ID and Password will be displayed on the browser.

7.On the https://uniben.waeup.org click on ‘Login’ (top right of front page).

All candidates offered admission in the 2014/2015 session for full time National Diploma (ND) programmes are to pay an acceptance fee of twenty three thousand Naira (N23,000.00) and seven thousand five hundred (N7,500) Naira application form fee after clearance at the Multi-purpose hall of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.

Requirements:
1. TWO (2) JAMB Documents (receipt, photo card or notification of results)
2. Three (3) Copies of SSCE, GCE/O/Level, NECO, NABTEB (Original copy

FUTA Admissions into Pre-Degree Programme 2014/2015 Session Announced

Mr. Sunday Adejumo, the Chief Security Officer of University of Lagos has been reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen on Friday night.

The incident which took place in a bar located at Oyenuga Street, Akoka from all indications is a pre-mediated murder.

The police so far have made some arrest and investigations are still going on.

UNILAG Registration & Screening Schedule for 2014/2015 Admission Exercise

This is to inform all UTME and DIRECT Entry candidates seeking admission into Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti that registration for 2014/2015 supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise has commenced.

The screening is open to candidates who chose EKSU in the 2014 UTME and scored 180/or above. The university will also give consideration to UTME candidates who did not choose EKSU but obtained 180 and above in their exam.
