UNICAL Produces 9 First Class as 7,811 Graduates

This is to inform you that the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. James Epoke, yesterday disclosed that the institution will at its 28th convocation ceremony on March 14th ( Today ) produce 7,811 graduates.

According to him, 9 persons will graduate with First class honours which is the highest number of first class recorded by the institution in the past ten years.

Other graduands include 6,871 undergraduates; 391 masters; 120 Phd; and 429 Post Graduate Diplomas.

He further mentioned that the issue of ‘sorting’ has been reduced to the barest minimum and other social vices have also been tackled.

“So, now the campus is serene and you can see students hanging around the corners reading their books unmolested,” he stated.

Pay the sum of 7,000 (Seven thousand naira only) and obtain payment slip containing a unique PIN.

UNICAL Post-Graduate Admission 2014/2015

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into Graduate programmes in the 2014/2015 academic year leading to the award of Post Graduate Diploma, Masters, MPhil and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees of the University of Calabar.

A.GENERAL REGULATIONS
Courses may be offered full-time or part-time. All programmes begin with coursework and end with a project for Graduate Diploma, MBA, MPA and MPAS or thesis for Masters and Ph.D degrees.

For full-time studies in most programmes, the Post Graduate Diploma lasts for one calendar year, the Masters degrees last for 2 years and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes extend over a minimum of 3 years.

Part-time programmes take a much longer time. Candidates with Masters degree from recognized universities may credit the relevant courses towards the Ph.Dprogramme, provided the quality of the grade is acceptable to the Graduate School.

Candidates are required to have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 5-point scale and 2.75 on a 4-point scale for Masters programmes and 4.00 on a 5-point scale and 3.00 on a 4-point scale for Ph.Dprogrammes..

UNICAL Releases 2014/2015 Post-UTME Result

This is to inform candidates who took part in the 2014/2015 Post-UTME screening exercise of the University of Calabar that the results of the Post UTME held in Unical on August 1 - 2 have now been officially released.

Prospective students that wrote the examinations are required to purchase a Post UTME result checking card.

The Post UTME Result Checking scratch cards are available in; Unical Micro-Finance Bank, Calabar, Wema Bank Calabar, Enterprise Bank Calabar, and First City Monument Bank Plc."

UNICAL Re-schedules 2014/2015 Post-UTME Screening Dates and Registration Deadline

The University of Calabar 2014/2015 Post-UTME screening dates and Registration Deadline have been re-scheduled.

The screening exercise will now take place on the 1st and 2nd August, 2014.

While the deadline for registration/application is now 30th July, 2014.

UNICAL: Students Find Dead Foetus In Female Hostel

A lifeless foetus was found inside a bucket at the Hall Eight Female Hostel of the University of Calabar.

The identity of the female student, who abandoned the foetus beside one of the bathrooms, is still unknown.

A female student, who craved anonymity, said her attention was drawn to the foetus when she saw others running towards a particular direction in the hostel.

She said, “I was outside the hostel trying to surf the Internet when suddenly I saw girls running towards the hall. Initially, I thought it was a fracas, but on getting closer, I discovered it was not a fight. It was a dead foetus which had been abandoned in one of the bathrooms of the hostel. The baby was soaked in a pool of blood.”

Checking of Post Graduate Aptitude test result for admission into 2013/2014 session in the University of Calabar (UNICAL) is open.

Release Date: Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

Candidates can now check their APTITUDE TEST results online with any of the following;

UNICAL Registration 2013/2014 for New Students - Official Thread

This is the official thread for all newly admitted students of University of Calabar in the 2013/2014 Academic Session.

According to reports filtering out from the institution, registration is expected to continue as from Monday, 20th Jan, 2014 through up to 31st Jan.

Students are further advised to visit Faculty and Departmental Notice Boards for details of the Semester’s academic calendar.

UNICAL will not conduct 2nd choice 2013/2014 screening test?

The University of Calabar will not conduct its 2013/2014 second choice post utme ..This is as a result of JAMB's directives that was issued out to all Varsities to round up its admission processes on or before October 31st, 2013.

On this note, candidates who chose Unical as their first and second choice Varsity will be awarded admission into their second course of choice, based on their first choice aggregate ... For example, Biochemistry cutoff point for admission in the second choice is; Merit 228 Locality 217 Elds 215...

This new development has really affected thousands of candidates who banked their hope on the second choice screening test.

Unical 2013/2014 Graduate Programme Application Closes 14th Jan!!!

This is to inform all 2013/2014 prospective candidates into graduate school programmes University of Calabar, that sales of forms at the designated banks will close on Tuesday 14/01/2014 while the website will be closed for registration on Friday 17/01/2014.

The admission screening exercise (Aptitude test) will take place on Saturday 08/02/2014 as follows: Part A- written (use of English Language and General Knowledge); Part B- Oral interview in the respective department, based on subject area.
