NYSC Requirements For Registration/Mobilization Of 2016 Batch ‘A’ Prospective Corps Members

We NigerianEdu.com is to inform all prospective corps members, i.e. Nigerians who have graduated from Universities and Mono/Polytechnics both at home and abroad that the NYSC On-line registration portal will be opened from 8th February to 12th March, 2016 to enable them register for the 2016 Batch ‘A’ mobilization.

In order to ensure a seamless registration, prospective corps members are to note the following for strict compliance:

NYSC Will Not Be Scrapped - FG

The latest news reaching us has it that the Federal Government through the Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalong has said that the National Youth Service Programme has come to stay despite calls from some quarters to scrap it.

He made this known during the inspection of the Lagos State Orientation Camp.

According to him, the advantages of NYSC far outweighs the disadvantages as it has nit only enhanced the socio-cultural and ethnic integration in the country but had also promoted national unity. 

He reiterated the commitment of the Federal government towards training interested graduates in skill acquisition after their one year service to the nation. He stated that graduates will be given a start-up capital at the end of the training.

BREAKING NEWS: 7 NYSC Corps Members Repeat Service Year, 20 Others Get Extension

Current news reaching us has it that the about Seven Corps Members in the 2014 batch ‘C’ that served in Akwa Ibom State will be repeating their service year while about 20 other corps members got extension of their service year.

See NYSC New Certificate As It Unveiled In Abuja


 

Latest news reaching us now has it that the Authorities of the National Youth Service Corps has announced that the it has made improved changes to the Certificate usually issued to Corps members who have concluded the one year mandatory service to the nation.

This was disclosed by the Director General of the NYSC, Brig-Gen. Johnson Olawumi who was represented by the Acting Director of Certification, Alhaji Aliu Daura, in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to him the new certificate will now bear the carriers photograph and will help to fight forgery and impersonation.
He further stated that the issuance of the certificate will take effect from and the issuance will take effect Batch ‘C’ 2014, who will be passing out on 15 October.

Collection Of NYSC Exclusion Letter - DELSU To Graduates

We are to inform all concerned staff, students, and other members of the University community and especially students in the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), ISLT and the Weekend Degree programmes that the university management is in receipt of 4,815 exclusion letters from the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Headquarters in Abuja.

It would be recalled that the university management had, through the university official bulletin S.E. VOL. XXIV NO. 42, Wednesday, June 7, 2015, informed our students the reasons for the delay in the issuance of the exclusion letters and pleaded with them to show understanding; while the issue is vigorously pursued by the University.

NYSC Warns Institutions Against Mobilizing And Admitting Illegal Students

This is to inform you that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called and direct all institutions of higher learning to send only the names of qualified candidates with JAMB results, appropriate names of accredited courses offered to the should be sent to it for mobilization.

NYSC Online Call-Up Fee- NANS Calls for Reduction

This is to inform you that the National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) Yesterday made swift calls for reduction in the National Youth Service Corps’ (NYSC) N4000 online call-up fee for all prospective corps members.

NANS expressed its support for the NYSC online mobilization system, but however demanded that the amount be reduced to N3000.

 But the national president of NANS, in the person of Comrade Tijani Shehu “Having considered all the issues involved, especially the welfare and well-being of the intending youth Corp Members, the National Association of Nigerian Students resolved that there is no need retaining the old Manual Call-up system since it is costly, risky and stressful.
