We are thrill to notify the general public and all 2016/2017 UTME candidates that they can now proceed to JAMB Portal to check their admission status.

Read the JAMB Official Guidelines For Admission Into Tertiary Institutions In Nigeria

Latest news reaching us as the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released what it called the guidelines for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

According to JAMB, the Federal Government has directed that this guidelines be followed strictly without alteration.

The latest news as promised by the Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB), the portal for candidates to determine the institution they have been posted for 2016 admission has been enabled.

Candidates can actually check the institutions they have been posted for 2016 admission.

The portal is yet to be made official on its website, which goes to show that the candidates details are still being uploaded.

A Letter To JAMB Registrar by Aggrieved JAMB Candidate Pours

In the power of my fundamental right to freedom of EXPRESSION, as enshrined in the current portent 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of  Nigeria (as amended), I,  COMR. JAMB Announces 2016 Cut-Off Mark, Post-UTME Scrapped

This is to inform the general public following the decisions arrived at the just concluded 2016 JAMB Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria, the 2016 official cut-off mark has been pegged at 180 for Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education.

 Report has it that no higher institution; universities, polytechnics, colleges of education or certificate awarding institutions recognized by JAMB will go below 180. However, they can choose to go above the benchmark of 180.

Similarly, the decision to scrap post-UTME was taken. This means that institutions will no longer conduct Post-UTME screenings.

15 JAMB Officials Under Investigation, Risk Jail Terms

Prof. Dibu, Ojerinde, Registrar/Chief Executive of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has said that 15 employees of the board are currently being investigated for allegedly compromising standard in the accreditation of examination centres which resulted in the unavailability of adequate infrastructure needed for the examination. 

According to him, the alleged compromise, led to the technical problems encountered during the conduct of the 2016 UTME.

He noted that of the affected staff are found guilt, they risk jail terms.

Reason Many JAMB Candidates Failed 2016 UTME

We are thrill to inform all that the president of Association of Tutorial School Operators, Mr Shodunke Oludotun has stated that the reason many candidates failed the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) was due to the fact that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) used the wrong software to mark the exam. 

According to him, JAMB used the software for 2015 exam to grade the students in 2016.

House of Reps Backtracks, Endorses JAMB CBT

The House of Representatives seems to be talking out of both sides of its mouth with the recent report that it has endorsed the JAMB CBT.

It would be recalled that the Hose of Reps earlier directed that JAMB revert to the use of PPT or adopt the two and allow candidates make their choice.

In a recent development, the Chairman of the House Committee on Basic Education, Mr Zakari Muhammed, during a visit to one of the CBT centres, said the members of the House Committee on Basic Education have thrown their weight to the Computer-Based Test as it is part of the Federal Government’s plan to improve the education sector and in line with with global best practices.

JAMB 2016 Direct Entry Registration Portal

We are to inform the general public and interested candidates that the 2016 Direct Entry e-Registration Portal is now Open For Registration.

Method Of Application:

Interested candidates are to obtain the Direct Entry e-registration scratch card from any of the following places; Zenith Bank, Skye Bank, Union Bank, First Bank and NIPOST at the cost of N5,000 (Five thousand naira) only.

The registration can only be done in accredited JAMB CBT Registration Centres. To view the list of accredited centres, visithttp://www.jamb.org.ng/DirectEntry3/RegistrationCentres.aspx

System Failure And Those That Missed The Exam Will Retake It - JAMB Assures

The latest update as the Registrar Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde has stated that candidates who missed their examination because they were relocated will be given another opportunity to sit for the examination.

House of Reps Orders JAMB To Revert To Paper-Pencil Test

Latest news trending now has it that the agitations from candidates may have started yielding fruits as the House of Representatives has asked the Federal Ministry of Education to direct the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to revert to pencil-paper method in the conduct of UTME or adopt both PPT and CBT so that candidates can opt for any one of their choice.

This followed a motion moved by a lawmaker from Lagos State, Mr. Oghene Emma-Egoh, on the “conflicting” scores of candidates who took the examination.

JAMB knew about this at the initial stage and still went ahead to accredit the center.
