POSTGRADUATE ACADEMIC CALENDAR FOR SECOND SEMESTER, 2013/2014 ACADEMIC SESSION

Heads of Departments, Members of Staff and Students are hereby informed that Senate at its 247th Statutory Meeting held on Wednesday, 24th September, 2014, approved the Postgraduate Academic Calendar for Second Semester, 2013/2014 Academic Session as follows:

Sunday, 14th September, 2014 - Arrival of all Postgraduate Students

Monday, 15th September, 2014 - Normal Registration/Lecture begins for all Postgraduate Students

Friday, 26th September, 2014 - Normal Registration ends for all Postgraduate Students

Monday, 28th September, 2014 - Late Registration begins for all Postgraduate Students

Friday, 3rd October, 2014 - Late Registration ends for all Postgraduate Students

FUTA Admissions into Pre-Degree Programme 2014/2015 Session Announced

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Pre-degree Science (PDS) Programme of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. The PDS Programme is full time, and will run for one academic session of Two (2) semesters.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should possess five Credit passes in WASC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB at not more than two sittings in relevant subjects from;

ENGLISH LANGUAGE
BIOLOGY/AGRIC.SCIENCE
MATHEMATICS
ECONOMICS
PHYSICS
GEOGRAPHY
CHEMISTRY

Credit pass in Economics is compulsory in the School of Management Technology.

FUTA Fresher Registration: The hazzles Involved

It has been a tough time Since Monday when FUTA freshers started their registration, no one can truly say it is easy.

Is it the race between admission office and motion ground? Or queuing at firstbank? Each schools/faculty on campus cannot be set aside.

It is more like voter's registration at SOS, SEET, SAAT and student affairs for those that applied for school hostel accommodation.

FUTA’s Paper Adjudged Best At International Conference On Internet Security

A paper authored by a team from the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, has been adjudged the best presentation at the 8th International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST-2013) held in London, United Kingdom, in December 2013.

Entitled DGM Approach to Network Attacker and Defender Strategies, the paper, which was presented by Dr Kayode Alese, was co-authored by himself, Iwasokun Gabriel Babatunde and Haruna Danjuma Israel (all from the Department of Computer Science, FUTA), beating 1,241 papers received from 96 countries to emerge the overall best according to the panel of assessors.

The paper, which was later adjudged as the best for the year 2013, dwelt on novel strategies to checkmate infiltrations of secured transactions on the information super highway. A lot of uplifting remarks from the international faculty went in favour of the ambassadors of FUTA who presented the award-winning paper.

FUTA Reopens, set to resume lectures on 6th January, 2014

The attention of all staff, students and the general public is hereby invited to the fact that the Federal University of Technology, Akure Management has directed that the University be reopened for academic and allied activities with effect from Monday, 9th December, 2013.

However, in view of the upcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations, lectures will resume with effect from Monday, 6th January, 2014.

All students are, therefore, requested to be in residence from 5th January, 2014.
