FUNAAB Supplementary Admission List 2014/2015 Released

 


This is to inform FUNAAB Aspirants that 2014/2015 Supplementary Admission List has been released. So DE and UTME applicants who hasn't been given admission yet should check the Updated Admission List.

FUNAAB Resumption Date 2014/2015 Announced

Prior to the release of the 2014/15 academic Calendar of the Federal University of agriculture Abeokuta, the school management have scheduled November 23rd, 2014 as resumption date for newly admitted students.

Returning students are expected to resume December 5th, 2014.

While lectures commences fully on December 15th , 2014.

FUNAAB Matriculation 2013/2014 Comes up 19th Feb

This is to congratulate all 2013/2014 Fresh Students on their matriculation which comes up 19th Feb, 2014.

According to the official reports released by the institution, the venue of the event is at the mahmood Yakubu Lecture Theatre, by 9am.

Usually matriculation ceremonies are expected to close all admission process for any institution.

FUNAAB Orientation: Be Focused – VC Advises Pre-Degree Students

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, has advised Pre-Degree students of the University to be focused, in order to overcome T̶̲̥̅̊Ђę challenge ahead of them in life.

Vice-Chancellor gave this advice during the 2013/2014 Orientation Programmes for Pre-Degree and Cambridge ‘A’ level students of the University’s Institute for Human Resources Development (INHURD).

Professor Oyewole called on the students to be conscious of why they were in the Institute, have a clear vision and get prepared to face future challenges. Quoting the foremost educationist, Late Dr. Tai Solarin, who once wrote that “May your road be rough”, he charged them to always bear it in mind that the road to success is rough. Vice-Chancellor, also thanked the Director of INHURD, Professor Francis Sowemimo and the members of staff of the Institute for their effort at moving the Institute forward.

FUNAAB To Reward Outstanding Doctoral Theses

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, has promised to recognize outstanding doctoral theses from the institution.

The Senate of the university, which took the decision, said the initiative would help to promote and sustain quality research and scholarship.

FUNAAB is one of the institutions that recently won the Nigerian Universities Doctoral Theses Awards.

A thesis from the university entitled, “Genetic Variation, Correlation Studies and Multi-Locational Performance of Lowland NERICA Rice,” by Ogunbayo Ayoni, of the Department of Plant Breeding and Seed Technology, won the prize in agriculture.

The National Universities Commission organised the awards.

The Dean, Postgraduate School at FUNAAB, Prof. Ololade Enikuomehin, while unveiling the university plan, said the initiative was in line with the NUC move to promote scholarship in the country.

He said, “For us, the initiative would help us fit into our desire to becoming a world-class university. That is very relevant to our immediate community and the constituency we represent on a larger scale. I see it as helping us to showcase more, the outcome of our postgraduate research and it would help an average postgraduate student to have that sense of purpose that there is something to look up to, especially, if there is a prize to win.”

He added that the move would motivate postgraduate students and their supervisors to contribute more in solving societal problems.

FUNAAB Application For Bedspaces Has Begun for Old & New Students, 2013/2014

The Authorities of the Federal University of Agriculture , Abeokuta, FUNAAB, wishes to inform all undergraduate students of the University, who are interested in seeking accommodation in the School Hostels, that, application for bedspaces has began, and all interested persons can apply and bid for bed-spaces in any of the following categories of Hostels:

*.Iyalode Tinubu (Female Hostel) – Old block: N18,090.00

*.Umar Kabir Hall (Male Hostel) – Old Block : N18,090.00

FUNAAB, IT Firm Partner On Leadership Training

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State is to collaborate with Brightsword Technologies, Singapore in training and leadership development.

The West Africa Consultant of Brightsword Technologies, Dr. Raphael Iluyomade, stated this at a meeting of representatives of the university and the IT firm in Abeokuta.

Iluyomade, who hailed the initiative, said it would help to place Nigerian students for greater challenges after graduation.

He said, “Brightsword Technologies intends to set up a training centre in FUNAAB, a prototype of the one in Singapore, to train students in environmental cleaning, logistics and transport, purchasing and supply among others.
