EKSU Lecturers Embark on A Strike Action.

This is to inform all that the Ekiti State University Lecturers yesterday embarked on an indefinite strike over non-payment of their salaries.

Academic activities in the institution are currently paralyzed.

Responding to the new development, the Chairman of EKSU chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof. Olufayo Oluodo, state that the non-payment of salaries has made life difficult for the lecturers and left them with no other option than to stay away from classes.

EKSU Management Includes N5,000 Additional Late Payment Charges For School Fees.

We are to bring to the notice of the general students and most especially those who are yet to pay their School fee that additional 5,000 naira late payment charges have been added for Re-opening the school portal.

In this Regard, Temitope Awelewa,Editor-In-Chief Students' Union Press Corps while pleading with management through the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic,Prof Mrs Ibiyinka Ogunlade to Please reconsider Eksu students who are yet to pay their fees as many of them have not been able to pay up because they don't have it, therefore adding 10,000 extra charges to their fee can cause many to loose their studentship after much struggle.

In her words, Prof. Mrs Ibiyinka Ogunlade noted that management was able to re-open the Portal for students not considering the human power and resources to be put together at management's loss because of its passion and reconsideration.

She stressed further that Ekiti state university is the only institution where students are not paying on time till a day to the commencement of exams which is not only affecting management but also affecting students in many ways.

EKSU New Update to Part-time Students

This is to inform all students of the Part-Time Programme (Fresh and Returning Students) that academic activities have since commenced.

Consequently, Students who are yet to resume are advised to do so immediately. Students are to note that they can now pay their tuition and other sundry charges twice in the session.

All fresh students are expected to complete their registration formalities latest by Saturday, 17th January, 2015

EKSU Change Of Course Procedure Update

The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University has approved that the sum of five thousand naira(#5,000) be paid by candidates applying for change of course as follows:

Change of course fee: Five thousand Naira

EKSU Sandwich Programme Application 2014/2015 Announced

The Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Degree, PGDE and M.Ed Degree Sandwich Programmes for the 2015 Contact Session.

Available Courses in Four to Six-Year Programmes
A.) B.A (Education) Degree in English, Yoruba, Religious Studies, French, Arabic and Islamic Studies

B.) B.Ed Degree in Social Studies, Guidance and Counseling, Adult Education and Nursery and Primary Education

C.) B.Sc (Education) Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Health Education, Educational Management, Business Studies (Education), Computer Science, Human Kinetic (PHE), Agricultural Science, Technical Education, Integrated Science and Accounting

Entry Requirements

I.) 4-Year Programme in any of A, B or C

a. Passes at credit/merit level in two subjects at the NCE and credit passes in (five) 5 subjects including English Language GCE O/Level or its equivalent. A pass at the NCE General English is acceptable in lieu of a credit pass at the SSCEJGCE O/Level

b. Three (3) passes at the Advanced Level GCE plus credit passes in five (5) other subjects in O/Level SSCE/GCE

c. National Diploma with credit/merit passes in relevant subjects plus credit passes in 5 GCE O/Level subjects.

d. Passes at credit/merit level in five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at the GCE O/Level with any of the following is acceptable for Computer Science Education; Diploma in Data Processing from recognized Universities, ND (Computer Science).
c. The Nursing and Midwifery Certificate together with five (5) O/Level credit passes including English Language for B.Sc Physical Health Education
d. The Nursing and Midwifery Certificate plus Post-Nursing Diploma with any two other subjects is acceptable for B.Sc (Ed) Health Education.

II.) 5-Year Programme in any of A, B or C except Educational Management

EKSU School Fees Reduced by the Governor

The Governor Of Ekiti State, Governor Ayodele Fayose has reduced EKSU tuition Fee From 50,000 to 30,000.

He further stated that the payment can be made in two installments.

According to the governor, This is part of the effort of his administration to ensure an enabling atmosphere for teaching and learning in all state-owned institutions.

EKSU Admission Scam Alert

The attention of the Fresh Students and the entire University Community is being drawn to an unauthorized document titled ‘EKSU REGISTRATION PROCESS’ purportedly written by some people from Global Harvest Church.

The document is alien to the registration procedure of the University and the fresh students are to beware of fraudsters who may be disguising under religion to defraud them.

EKSU Registration Details for Newly Admitted Students 2014/2015

Please find below, the procedure for the screening/registration exercise of freshmen in the 2014/2015 Academic Session which will commence on Monday, 20th October, 2014 and end on Friday, 14th November, 2014.

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION

1. Candidates visit the Admissions Office to obtain Authority to proceed for registration and submit their O’Level results for verification.

2. Candidates visit the office of the Faculty Officer to collect screening materials. They are to present their provisional admission slips, the letter of acceptance of the provisional admission and the receipt of payment down-loaded from the internet.

3. Faculty Officer issues screening materials to candidates, that is, the Screening of Credential Form and four (4) student data files. The Faculty Officers are to check the names of candidates presenting themselves for registration on the admission list.

4. Candidates fill the personal data files and put the photocopies of their credentials and other documents in the files - a complete set in each file.

5. Candidates proceed to their Heads of the Departments who sight the original copies of their credentials/documents and sign the candidates screening forms, if qualified for admission

into the Department.

EKSU Supplementary Post-UTME/DE Registration 2014/2015 is on

This is to inform all UTME and DIRECT Entry candidates seeking admission into Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti that registration for 2014/2015 supplementary Post-UTME screening exercise has commenced.

The screening is open to candidates who chose EKSU in the 2014 UTME and scored 180/or above. The university will also give consideration to UTME candidates who did not choose EKSU but obtained 180 and above in their exam.
