The suit filed by holders of Higher National Diploma over what they described as discrimination commenced today.
The appellants; Garba Bello, Babatunde Samuel, Jubril Kadiri, Christiana
Owolabi, Chuba Umechukwu and Fatima Ahmed on behalf of members of the
association want the court to make an order directing the defendants to
implement the federal government White Paper abolishing the dichotomy
between HND and their B.Sc counterparts and consolidating emoluments in
the public sector.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government earlier set up a
committee to work on the dichotomy between holders of the Higher
National Diploma (HND) and university degree holders.
The report has since been submitted to the Federal Government.
