The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Professor Godwin Onu, has
called on the Academic staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) to call off
the protracted strike action in the interest of the students.
According to him the strike action has made students who ought to have
graduated to remain at home while those who have been admitted are yet
to resume lectures.
It is expected that the meeting involving ASUP executives, joint
committee of the National Assembly representing the Federal Government,
Ministries of education, finance and labour today will bring an end to
the strike.
