Dr Mahmud Lawal, the Chairman of Academic Staff Union of
Universities, Bayero University Kano, chapter, said full lectures had
begun at the institution on Jan. 2.
Lawal told the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Kano that all members
of the union had fully complied with the university’s management
decision to resume academic activities.
“All our members have no reasons not to resume work. We started
activities since Jan. 2, and even today (Monday) lectures are in full
swing,” he said.
He said that
all the conditions agreed upon during the six-month strike
by the union had been implemented by the management of the institution.
The chairman also said that “no (member) staff was victimised or refused his entitlements”.
