The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State is to
collaborate with Brightsword Technologies, Singapore in training and
leadership development.
The West Africa Consultant of Brightsword Technologies, Dr. Raphael
Iluyomade, stated this at a meeting of representatives of the university
and the IT firm in Abeokuta.
Iluyomade, who hailed the initiative, said it would help to place Nigerian students for greater challenges after graduation.
He said, “Brightsword Technologies intends to set up a training centre
in FUNAAB, a prototype of the one in Singapore, to train students in
environmental cleaning, logistics and transport, purchasing and supply
among others. Without this necessary certification, one would not be
able to practise in countries like the United Kingdom and
the United
States.”
On the benefits of the collaboration, Iluyomade noted that apart from
increasing the university’s revenue, the initiative would expose it to
more multinational companies.
